Milieu is looking for a HR Assistant (m/f/d) – part-time (+/- 24 hours per week)

We are seeking to recruit a motivated professional for a part-time role as a HR Assistant. You will work closely with the HR Director and support a full range of HR activities across the company. Recruitment, administration, contracts, payroll, training, reviews – you will be involved in them all. In general your role will be to help the HR Director ensure that the human resources side of Milieu runs smoothly and efficiently. Milieu is a collaborative company and human resources is very much at its heart. The HR assistant is also expected to be a back-up for the receptionist when she is unavailable. This role will be part-time – we envisage 24 hours per week but exact working hours to be decided with the successful candidate.

Your duties would include:

  • Assist with all aspects of the recruitment of new people (advertising, application sifting, setting up interviews…)
  • Deal with the contractual aspects of new and existing employees
  • Help with the coordination of internal training
  • Administer the internal review process and follow-up of staff development plans
  • Assist with payroll and benefit administration (such as lunch vouchers etc.)
  • Deal with ad hoc HR requests (maternity leave, parental leave etc.) as necessary
  • Ad hoc administrative support (cover reception duties one day per week)

Key qualifications for the position:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or 3 years of relevant professional experience
  • Excellent spoken and written English, and good working knowledge of either French or Dutch
  • Well-organised, practical-minded and able to prioritise a busy and varied workload
  • Knowledge of the Belgian employment system
  • An independent, self-starter personality with strong interpersonal skills
  • Very strong organistion skills with an ability to easily multi-task
  • Excellent communication skills and a good sense of humour
  • Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel
