YOUR AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY

As Investments Analyst – Regulatory & Public Affairs, you will be responsible for supporting the team in Zurich throughout the investment lifecycle, from sourcing of transactions to value creation in asset management. Reporting to the Head of Public and Regulatory Affairs, you will monitor, interpret and report on regulatory and political developments to derive actionable insights and strategy recommendations. The role includes the following key responsibilities:

  • Screening of regulatory and political developments across the Swiss, European and global energy landscape
  • Sourcing of public and private information in the relevant business and political environments
  • Analyzing the impact of policy issues – both risks and opportunities – to derive actionable insights and provide updates and strategy recommendations for both existing and potential assets under management
  • Developing positioning statements for consultations on draft legislation i.a. related to net zero transition and security of supply that will directly or indirectly affect assets under management and/or envisaged transactions
  • Executing reporting tasks for management of assets
  • Liaising with regulatory authorities, political stakeholders and associations
  • Supporting new team- as well as company-wide initiatives to help further grow and streamline the business

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • First relevant experiences working in regulatory affairs and/or public policy in the Swiss and/or European energy sector
  • Excellent academic background with a degree from a top-tier university or business school
  • Affinity with energy technologies and power markets combined with strong knowledge of regulatory and political developments in the energy sector
  • In-depth understanding of energy politics and its parameters
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and conceptual thinking and the ability to quickly familiarize oneself with complex topics and take self-driven ownership
  • Independent, proactive and entrepreneurial attitude with a positive, analytical can-do approach
  • Fluency in English and German is a must; other languages are an advantage
