To that end, we are building a community of the brightest minds in politics, from all democratic parties and on all levels of governance. Our offices are in Vienna and Berlin with partner offices in 14 other countries.

Journalist with Tech + Politics focus (m/f/d)

We are looking for an experienced journalist for a soon to be established online magazine on democracy technology. The magazine will help politicians and their staff navigate the field of democracy technologies / digital citizens’ participation. It will provide featured articles on current trends in the field, case studies of digital participation projects across Europe, as well as practical guides and lessons learned articles.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify potential stories on the latest development in digital citizens’ participation
  • Writing and editing articles for our online magazine
  • Co-developing the formats for the articles
  • Giving feedback to less experienced junior editors

What you should bring to this role

  • Experience in journalistic writing – ideally in science journalism or a magazine
  • Professional proficiency in English / ideally other european languages
  • Interest in the topic of democracy technologies / digital citizens’ participation
  • Familiarity with our target audience (politicians and public officials) highly appreciated
  • The ability to write headlines and copy that grab the reader’s interest
  • A can-do, hands-on attitude

  • Monthly salary: 1600€/month (with 12 monthly salaries a year)
