Eurelectric is seeking a

Policy Advisor for the Distribution Team

You will:

  • Monitor and analyse legislative and policy development in EU energy policy in the field of distribution networks (e.g. revision of the Electricity Market Design, Green Deal Industrial Plan) and analyse their implications for the Electricity Industry;
  • Organise, coordinate and actively participate in various members’ working group meetings on different aspects of DSO issues, in particular technology developments, digitalisation (including cybersecurity aspects) and the sustainability of the distribution network;
  • Contribute to the work on policy analysis and drafting of DSO relevant reports and position papers;
  • Pilot Eurelectric project related to the future of the power system addressing key EU policy issues related to the shift towards a more digitalised decentralised and flexible European Power Grid;
  • In close cooperation with its DSO membership, advise on the relevant DSO working groups’ agendas and ensure external representation towards the EU Institutions and other industry organisations as needed.

Requirements and competencies:

  • An appropriate university degree (Legal, political science, engineering);
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in distribution networks issues or EU Energy policy;
  • Interest and experience in EU initiatives, legislation and regulatory processes;
  • Interest in new technologies and developments in the energy sector (e.g. digitalisation, sector coupling, storage, cyber security) and regulated businesses;
  • Knowledge and/or experience in EU energy legislation;
  • Strong data analytics skills and report writing;
  • Good organisational and communication skills;
  • Fluency in English and another EU language;
  • Ability to learn fast and adapt to a variety of tasks;
  • Stress-resistant, team player, dynamic, and eager to work in a busy, international environment.
