CETAF is now looking for a new professional to join their team in Brussels, Belgium, and take up the role of the TETTRIs Project Manager.
With TETTRIs (Transforming European Taxonomy through Training, Research, and Innovations), CETAF envisions that the taxonomic knowledge and expertise required to study and protect biological diversity throughout Europe becomes easily and openly accessible, sustained over time and integrated into decision-making processes at all levels of society. Inspired by the goals of nature conservation and sustainability of life on Earth put forward by the Biodiversity Strategy 2030, the community of facilities, collections and experts gathered around CETAF tackle strategic research objectives in the field of taxonomy and systematics.
The project addresses the issue of the shortage of taxonomists who are able to identify species in decline, especially in biodiversity hotspots sites, and understand the causes, main drivers and interrelations. It aims to build capacity close to biodiversity hotspots and protected areas in Europe while facilitating the necessary transfer of knowledge from fundamental taxonomists to citizens and supporting the creation of reference collections, innovative tools and robust training programmes.
In advancing the field of taxonomy and beyond, TETTRIs will implement several technical and systems innovations developed by consortium partners and validated in collaboration with target groups such as citizen scientists, through third-party projects.
The Project Manager works jointly with the Project Coordinator and the rest of the Project Management Team (PMT) of TETTRIs to ensure the implementation of the work programme across the consortium. They will work in close collaboration with other project’s beneficiaries, collaborators, and boards. The Project Manager will provide top-level management of the project with regards to all communication, organisational, administrative, logistics, contractual and financial matters. The Project Manager will be supported by a project administrator and the project communicator throughout the duration of the project.
