Consumer science is at the very core of EUFIC. The currently searched

Research Manager (m/f/x)

will, among others, be involved in the research studies carried out within EUFIC and its EU funding networks. This position is required to manage tasks independently as well with other members of the team, supporting and reporting to the Senior Manager and/or Research Area Lead at EUFIC.

Key responsibilities

Research

  • Active involvement in the conceptualisation, design, analysis and presentation of consumer research studies/tasks covering a range of fields related to healthy and sustainable diets, including different forms of communication (labelling, marketing, messages, etc.), attitudes, preferences, and behaviour change. This may involve surveys, interviews, focus groups, and experiments.
  • Literature review
  • Statistical analysis (e.g. SPSS) / qualitative contextual analysis (e.g. NVivo)
  • Presentation of research findings at various events (e.g., conferences, workshops, project meetings)

Project management

  • Ability to manage projects independently
  • Responsible for project deliverables (e.g. reports)
  • Responsible for project related budgets
  • Can line manager interns
  • Can liaise with project partners
  • Represent EUFIC at project meetings

Educational requirements, experience and skills

We are looking for candidates who have/are:

  • A scientific background, preferably with an MSc degree in consumer behaviour or related fields
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), possibly another European language
  • Fast learner
  • Good interpersonal skills and a team player

Job conditions

  • Compensation package including benefits if working in Belgium (e.g. pension & health insurance cover, phone subscription, discretionary bonus, lunch vouchers, etc.)
  • Full-time position (38h/week), part-time arrangement is possible
  • Office in central Brussels, remote work possible
  • Start date: March 1, 2025
  • One-year contract with the possibility to extend
  • Will involve European travel for project meetings
