The Brussels Institute for Geopolitics (BIG) is a dynamic think tank dedicated to fostering strategic insights on European and global affairs. At a time when geopolitics is shaping the future of Europe, our work is more critical than ever. By promoting clarity, sound judgment, agency, plurality and quality, we contribute to key policy discussions that will define the continent’s role in an evolving world.
It exists to help Europe get in shape for the new era of great power politics. It is the first and only think tank in Brussels wholly dedicated to geopolitics and strategy. Founded in 2022 with the backing of several EU leaders, the institute works closely with decision makers from the public and private sector. It combines an intimate knowledge of the EU with an understanding of the deeper historic and cultural shifts shaping Europe. By bringing together thought leaders from politics, business and civil society, BIG aims to foster a true strategic culture for the European Union.
