Our Vision
NEP believes that by 2030, the world can have put itself on a path to achieve the mitigation of climate change by making realistic but radical commitments to reducing fossil fuel emissions in favour of sustainable forms of energy generation.
NEP knows that both “net zero” targets and any ambitions to reverse climate change can only succeed with a major contribution from technologically-enabled negative emissions solutions.
NEP’s vision is of a planet that, by 2050, has successfully broken its dependence on fossil fuels, generating vast amounts of renewable energy, and has deployed a wide array of negative emissions technology solutions on a massive scale, on all continents, and in a way that gives complete confidence in the credibility of measurement, accounting, and certification systems.
Our Mission
The Negative Emissions Platform exists in order to support and promote the contribution of technologically-enabled removals of atmospheric CO2 to the acceleration of global efforts to mitigate and reverse climate change.
