The Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development Vienna (RCE Vienna) is looking for a

Project manager for EU projects in sustainability (m/f/x)

Part-time, 20-30 hours/week

Starting date as soon as possible and limited until August 31st 2025 

Is sustainability more than just a fancy buzzword for you, but a personal mission? Do you enjoy working with people from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds? Are you tired of the same old routine and are eager to drive change? Are you proactive and willing to take initiative? 

We have a position available in the EU project Urban Shift and are looking for a new team member! The position involves project management as project lead and developing/writing new project proposals.  

You are passionate about:

  • SDGs and Sustainable Development 
  • Transdisciplinary and transformative education  
  • Innovation and fundamental change 
  • Theory with practical application 
  • Sustainable entrepreneurship 
  • Transnational project work  
  • Developing and implementing new project ideas 

You have experience in:

  • Project work with diverse teams (ideally in other EU projects) 
  • Content coordination and alignment with various EU partners 
  • Collaborative development and refinement of transdisciplinary educational programs and curricula for students 
  • A broad set of methods for workshops, team building, and innovation  
  • Confidence in presenting to groups and facilitation of training and workshops 
  • Organization and implementation of events (both online and offline) 
  • Working in English and German (both written and spoken) 
  • Independent task handling, prioritization and structured work 
  • Knowledge of various remote communication tools (Slack, Zoom, MS Teams, etc.) 
  • Interest and basic knowledge in sustainability and education 
  • Experience with project proposal preparation and implementation

The minimum monthly salary (gross and based on 40h/week) for this position amounts to €3,277.30. This salary may be adjusted based on academic and job-related prior experience.

About the project

The Urban Shift for green innovations – supporting the EU green deal by providing groundbreaking innovations for fighting climate change in urban areas’. We are a bigger consortium of four institutions (WU, Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, Hochschule der Medien and WIFI Österreich) and four business partners (Multicriteria, Green Innovation Group, Bluegrowth Consulting and Terra) creating a Living Ecosystem where educational institutions from Austria, Germany and Spain, and businesses from Italy, Spain and Denmark implement a Living Curriculum for transdisciplinary start-up education with learners of a diverse background.
