COCIR is looking for a Research & Innovation Manager!

COCIR is a founding partner of the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI), a Joint Undertaking under Horizon Europe, the EU Framework Programme for Research & Innovation (https://www.ihi.europa.eu/). In this context, we are seeking a highly motivated professional who has a passion for healthcare, research and innovation to fill the existing position of “Research & Innovation Manager”. This position is full time and based in Brussels.

Expected starting date: as soon as possible.

Responsibilities & Tasks

This position is in support of the COCIR work related to the Research & Innovation Focus Group and the Innovative Health Initiative. The main responsibilities and tasks include:

  • Coordinate the COCIR activities & positions related to research & innovation, and the Innovative Health Initiative, including the Research & Innovation Focus Group;
  • Monitor and coordinate the COCIR contribution to the Innovative Health Initiative, including support to COCIR members applying and participating to projects;
  • Ensure internal communication about the Innovative Health Initiative, including organization of dedicated webinars and workshops for COCIR members;
  • Represent COCIR in operational discussions with IHI partner associations, the IHI Programme Office, and the European Commission;
  • Assist in the preparation of high-level meetings with external stakeholders and public events;
  • Actively monitor new information related to EU research & innovation funding programmes;
  • Assist in preparation of communication documents such as newsletters, press releases etc.

Candidate Profile

  • You are passionate about healthcare, specifically the medical technology sector, and have a strong interest in European funding programmes for research and innovation;
  • You are highly organized, with high attention to detail; project management knowledge would be an asset;
  • You have the proven ability to understand, appreciate and communicate complex legal and technical issues;
  • You have relevant work experience of at least 3 years related to public funding of research & innovation, ideally at European level and related to healthcare;
  • You understand the environment of the European institutions as it relates to research and innovation;
  • You have a master’s degree in a relevant field for this position;
  • You are fluent in English and able to communicate in at least one other EU language;
  • You are a team player with excellent networking skills;
  • You understand the environment of a membership organisation; previous experience in a trade association is of added value.
