The Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development Vienna (RCE Vienna) is a project-based network for research, education and knowledge interactions on questions related to regional and transregional sustainable development and socioecological transformations.
The RCE Vienna was founded in 2011 and is one of more than 170 RCEs worldwide. Since 2019 it has been associated with STaR and supports its team in the field of Third Mission.
Third Mission
WU defines the Third Mission as having a comprehensive role in the broader society, whether by partnering in innovation networks, coproducing contextual solutions, or serving as an anchor in the community.
The various internal and EU-funded projects presented below are currently carried out at RCE Vienna and coordinated by Christian Rammel from STaR team. Our long-term aim is to expand this list with Third Mission activities across WU’s campus and regularly issue a Third Mission Report.
