Communications Projects Manager

Your Responsibilities

The Communications Team at ISTA strives to be a pioneer in institutional science communication. Through a variety of internal and external channels, the team shares inspiring stories about ISTA’s scientists and their research, increasing the Institute’s visibility both locally and globally. We are looking for an experienced project manager with subject matter expertise in digital communications projects for the duration of one year due to a parental leave. The position is mostly dedicated to one key project: Managing the relaunch of the institutional website.

  • Lead the project management of the Institute’s new website, acting as the central point of contact between internal stakeholders and an external agency to align requirements, meet quality targets, and ensure timely delivery

  • Embed the new website in the editorial and institutional processes for multi-channel communication, ensuring consistency in messaging and alignment with strategic goals

  • Contribute to the development of communication concepts and storytelling strategies, helping shape how ISTA presents its research and institutional identity across platforms

Your Profile

  • Completed higher education in a relevant field (e.g., Media Studies, Public Relations/Corporate Communication, Digital Marketing, Business Administration, or similar)

  • Several years of proven communications experience

  • Solid project management skills, ideally with experience leading complex communication projects

  • Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in German is advantageous

  • High affinity for science and its communication across a channel portfolio

  • Confident in storytelling and developing audience-specific editorial content for diverse platforms

  • Strong team player with excellent organizational skills

  • High degree of hands-on mentality and service orientation

  • Open, inclusive, and sensitive communication
