We are looking for a resourceful and creative Communications Coordinator to help deliver the Foundation's communications across our programmes and organisational work. This is a full-time, Berlin-based role in a small, internationally focused team. Salary range: €39,000 - €48,000 commensurate with experience. Applications close on 15 September 2026.
In this role, you will produce clear, engaging communications; keep multiple pieces of work moving; and help the team turn ideas, programme activity and emerging opportunities into useful external content. You will bring ideas and a point of view, while being comfortable testing an approach, receiving feedback and changing course quickly when circumstances change.
This is a fast-moving, hands-on role in a small organisation. Priorities can change quickly, information is not always complete, and you will often work across several projects and types of task at once. You will thrive here if you enjoy figuring things out, can create enough structure to keep work moving, communicate early when something is unclear or at risk, and adapt your approach without losing momentum.
Work closely with the Foundation's incoming Communications Manager (hiring in progress) and wider team to plan, produce and deliver communications across its programmes and organisational priorities
Create and adapt audience-focused content for the Foundation's social channels, including compelling copy, simple graphics and short-form multimedia content.
Maintain the Foundation's social content calendar and support day-to-day publishing, community management and performance monitoring.
Update and maintain accurate, accessible and current content on the Foundation's website.
Design simple but high-quality, on-brand materials such as reports, presentations, event assets, banners and other internal and external collateral.
Support the production, editing, repurposing and distribution of video, audio and other multimedia content.
Coordinate requests, deadlines, approvals and assets across several workstreams; flag risks or trade-offs early and propose practical ways forward.
Contribute ideas for content, campaigns and communications improvements, and use performance evidence and feedback to strengthen future work.
You’re a clear communicator with strong content instincts and a good design eye. You’re organised and dependable, but also comfortable when the route is not completely mapped out. When you encounter an obstacle or an unfamiliar task, your instinct is to ask good questions, work out practical options and keep moving. You can manage competing priorities, communicate trade-offs and ask for help before a problem becomes a crisis. You bring ideas, accept challenge and feedback constructively, and are willing to change your mind when new information changes the problem.
Demonstrable experience producing external communications in a professional, nonprofit, campaigning, newsroom or comparable environment.
Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to turn complex or incomplete material into clear, accurate and engaging content.
A small portfolio of attributable work that demonstrates your strong content judgment, especially for social or other digital channels.
Strong organisation and follow-through: able to manage multiple deadlines, maintain attention to detail and communicate early when priorities or risks change.
Solid visual judgment and working proficiency in Canva or a similar design tool, with experience producing clear, on-brand assets.
Confidence using digital tools and the learning agility to become productive quickly in unfamiliar platforms, formats and subject areas.
Good working knowledge of AI-assisted content and design production, including the judgment to check, improve or reject AI-generated material.
Evidence of initiative and creative problem-solving: able to spot gaps, bring ideas and propose workable next steps rather than waiting for every detail to be specified.
Managing content in a website CMS; experience with Wix is welcome.
Editing video or podcasts
Using CRM or email-marketing platforms.
An interest in politics, government, democracy or leadership development.
Journalism or newsroom experience, particularly where speed, accuracy and changing priorities were important.
Additional language skills, including Spanish, German or French.
A smart, hardworking and supportive team committed to your growth and learning. We try to make our workplace as friendly and enjoyable as possible.
The opportunity to work for a nonprofit dedicated to real impact.
A Berlin-based role with office days on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Generous leave: 20 days, the last Friday of every month off, your birthday, one week in summer and the Christmas period, alongside flexible working conditions once established in the role.
International, diverse and enthusiastic colleagues from Australia, South Africa, Jordan, Germany, Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Argentina, Ukraine, Paraguay, Turkey, Colombia and Spain.
