Samaritan Association of Vienna

Let’s help together

The non-profit organisation’s approximately 1,200 full-time staff, 1,100 volunteers and those undertaking community service are on duty every day. They are dedicated to helping and supporting older people, the sick, the injured and those who, for various reasons, find themselves in physical or financial distress. The focus is on social cohesion – regardless of ethnicity, religion or beliefs. The services provided by the Samaritan Association of Vienna have expanded enormously in recent years – from traditional rescue and ambulance services and training in first aid and emergency medical services, the Samaritan Association of Vienna is now also active in the field of health and social services such as care and support, as well as in assistance for the homeless and refugees and disaster relief. Furthermore, people affected by poverty and their families are supported through social markets, social counselling, the Samaritan Soup Kitchen and learning facilities for children. The range of services also includes youth work, medical services, dog rescue teams, water rescue and much more. In recent years, the Samaritan Association of Vienna has worked closely with the City of Vienna and other organisations, and has been active not only during the coronavirus pandemic but also in providing emergency aid to refugees from Ukraine. Let’s help together – this is the motto under which the staff of the Samaritan Association of Vienna are there for the people of the city.
