The Zurich Contact Point for Undocumented Migrants (SPAZ) was founded in April 2005 on the initiative of labor unions, migrant organizations, and dedicated individuals. It advocates for the rights and living conditions of people without legal residency status. The foundation of its work is the belief that all people—regardless of origin or residency status—are entitled to a life of dignity and fundamental human rights.

SPAZ aims to improve the social, health, and legal situation of undocumented migrants in Zurich and throughout Switzerland. It works to ensure that those affected can exercise their rights and defend themselves against exploitation and abuse. At the same time, it raises awareness among the public and policymakers about the often precarious living conditions of undocumented migrants and advocates for migration policies that focus on realistic and pragmatic solutions rather than repression.

Specifically, the organization offers counseling and support in various areas of life, including the regularization of residency status, access to medical care, education, and language courses, as well as legal matters related to marriage, birth registration, and child recognition. In addition, it supports people in difficult life situations.
