UNICEF works worldwide to promote the welfare of children.

Since UNICEF was founded on December 11, 1946, the children's aid organization has developed from an emergency program into one of the most important humanitarian children's aid organizations.

UNICEF Austria was founded in 1962 as a non-profit association. In Austria, UNICEF collects donations for international projects to ensure that every child has a fair chance at a better future.

Our children's rights team works within Austrian politics to ensure that children's rights receive more attention in the public sphere.

UNICEF Austria finances its work exclusively from voluntary contributions and does not receive any funds from mandatory government contributions. We have to demand all government funds, including those for national programs, through our work on children's rights.
