aufZAQ advises on, certifies and ensures the quality of training courses that prepare participants for working with children and young people outside the school setting.

aufZAQ consists of the aufZAQ team and the aufZAQ advisory board, whose different activities and areas of responsibility complement one another in order to complete certification procedures and NQR classifications as effectively as possible and to promote the recognition of non-formal education in Austria and Europe.

aufZAQ works on behalf of the Federal Chancellery, Section VI – Family and Youth, and is an organisational unit of the Federal Youth Council (BJV).

Our areas of responsibility

The aufZAQ team advises and supports you throughout the application process. We assess the formal criteria and act as the interface between the assessment committee, the Federal Chancellery and the course providers. We also act as an NQR service centre and submit NQR classification requests to the National Qualifications Register (NQR). In addition to these activities, we monitor developments in education policy and content relating to the recognition of non-formal learning processes and contribute our expertise in relevant contexts, such as at specialist conferences and in education policy working groups.

The aufZAQ Advisory Board advises the Secretariat on various topics and developments. The Federal Chancellery decides on the certification of courses.
