Doing what matters – together

Politics means joining forces and taking responsibility together – for the country and its people. We have been doing this for over forty years now. We are convinced that together, as a party and in alliances far beyond, change and stability can be combined to form the strong unity that has always been needed to preserve what is good and make what is better possible.

BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN is united by a fundamental attitude toward the world as it is and as it could be. A society in which everyone can live in dignity and freedom, today and tomorrow, everywhere on the planet: that is our vision.

On the way there, we stand up for ecology and justice, for self-determination, for democracy and peace. These are the fundamental values that sustain us. And no matter how great the challenges of our time may be, we have confidence in society and in people that we can overcome these challenges together. As a society, we have it in our own hands.

At the heart of our politics is the dignity and freedom of the individual – as stated in our manifesto. This also means that our politics are aimed at all people. They are not guided by the sum of individual interests or individual groups, but rather connect and create balance, sometimes overcoming differences and seeking the necessary compromise.

Democracy is never “all or nothing.” It thrives on the firm belief that people and democratic parties are always able and willing to move toward each other for the common good and with mutual respect. We share this belief—and defend our democracy with all our strength and a crystal-clear stance.

On this basis, we are committed to a climate-neutral and future-proof, just and democratic society – a society of many, in which investments in ecological modernization and social cohesion create the basis for economic success and a livable future in peace and freedom.

And we invite you to join in and get involved. Because we can only make a difference together. Together, however, we can make a difference: from the local level to the state level to the federal level, in Europe and worldwide.
