Federal Office for the Environment FOEN

The Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) has the task of ensuring that natural resources such as soil, water, air and forest are used sustainably. It is responsible for protecting the country against natural disasters, safeguarding the environment and human health against excessive impacts, and conserving biodiversity and landscape quality. It is also in charge of international environmental policy.
