The umbrella organization of around 60 women's organizations active throughout Germany is the largest representative body for women's and gender equality issues in Germany. We represent women from professional, social, societal, and women's rights associations, from political parties, trade unions, churches, sports, culture, media, and business. We are committed to the rights of women in Germany, the European Union, and the United Nations. Our goal is legal and de facto gender equality in all areas of life. We are committed to gender-democratic change and a just and livable world for all.
Our umbrella organization currently has 62 member associations. You can find them all here in alphabetical order. Membership of the DF is open to women's associations and clubs that have a female membership of at least 90 percent at the time of admission, as well as other organizations whose statutes ensure that women can form their own opinions and represent their own interests. To be accepted, the applicant organization must have at least 300 individual members in five or more federal states and can demonstrate at least two years of activity at the federal level. Acceptance is only possible if the organization is not already a member of an umbrella organization that is already a member of the DF. Applications for membership can be submitted in writing at any time. The general meeting decides on acceptance. Further details are regulated in our statutes.
