Diakonie Österreich

The Diakonie sees itself as an association of aid and social organizations of the Protestant churches. For more than 150 years, the Diakonie has been accompanying, advising, and caring for people in difficult life situations.

Around 1,600 employees work in the Diakonie Eine Welt Group at over 80 locations in Vienna, Lower Austria, Salzburg, Tyrol, Carinthia, and Burgenland. They support more than 33,000 clients in the social sector and 5,150 children and young people in their kindergartens and schools. 92 community service workers and 412 volunteers support the work.

Their guiding principle is the commitment to promoting peace, justice, and the preservation of creation. The goal of their actions is a dignified life for all in a world that is also livable for future generations.
