Vision

The FIZ advocates for the protection and rights of migrants who are affected by violence and exploitation. To this end, it runs a counseling center for migrant women and a specialized victim protection program for victims of human trafficking. The center also carries out educational and political work.

About the organisation

A team of almost 40 experts advises migrants, protects and supports victims of human trafficking, and provides safe accommodation. FIZ employees train specialists, raise public awareness, advocate for the rights of migrants at the political level, launch projects, and manage the office.

The management of FIZ consists of the managing director and four division heads. Two of them have degrees in social work, one is a cultural manager, one is a historian, and one is an ethnologist. They have additional training in NPO management, social management, intercultural communication, and leadership. They have good networks in politics, academia, and social services. They are responsible for the operational management of the center.

Fifteen women work in the area of victim protection and human trafficking: social workers, lawyers, psychologists, medical professionals, ethnologists, and interns. They undergo continuous training in the areas of counseling and case management, trauma, mental illness, addiction, immigration and asylum law, victim assistance, criminal law, and practical skills (e.g., building maintenance).

Three social workers, one of whom is in training, work in the area of counseling for migrant women, with further training in victim support and law.

Four women work in the area of expertise and advocacy: they have studied ethnology, history, political science, and social anthropology and have completed further training in communication and campaigning. They are also responsible for projects (human trafficking in the asylum sector, Plateforme Traite). In addition, there is a fundraiser with a degree in public and nonprofit management.

Three women work in the area of finance and operations. Two are clerks (commercial and social services), and one is a communications scientist specializing in archiving.
