Article 30(3) of the Austrian Federal Constitution (B-VG) assigns responsibility for supporting the federal legislative bodies and Austrian Members of the European Parliament to the Parliamentary Administration, which is headed by the President of the National Council.

The approximately 490 employees ensure the smooth running of parliamentary proceedings and provide services for all those interested in parliamentary affairs. The special nature of parliamentary work requires flexible staffing, which is why employees who work in several organizational units are listed more than once.

The Parliamentary Administration also makes use of external staff to carry out tasks that are limited in time.
