About us

Pro Natura is Switzerland's leading nature conservation organisation. We love nature, defend its interests and give it a strong voice. The natural diversity of animals, plants and habitats must be preserved and promoted!

One of the pioneering achievements of our organisation, founded in 1909, was the creation of the Swiss National Park. Today, Pro Natura manages around 800 nature reserves and runs a dozen nature conservation centres throughout Switzerland. With our sections, we are active regionally in all cantons and nationally through our central association. At international level, Pro Natura is a member of Friends of the Earth International.

With around 170,000 members and 25,000 loyal patrons, we have a broad base of support. Our donors form the financial backbone of our organisation. Pro Natura is Zewo-certified.
