About us

Swisspower AG was founded in 2000 by 16 municipal utilities. Today, Swisspower is a strategic alliance of 21 Swiss municipal utilities and regional companies in the supply industry. Within the alliance, we develop and implement cooperation initiatives in the field of energy production from renewable sources, cross-company innovation management, and knowledge transfer. Through joint representation of interests and public relations work, we improve the competitive position of Swisspower municipal utilities.

Vision and fields of activity of Swisspower AG

The master plan encompasses our vision for Switzerland's ecological energy supply. Swisspower and its alliance partners are committed to creating a completely renewable energy supply without CO2 emissions. Based on the 2050 master plan, we offer services, cooperation opportunities, and training programs for municipal utilities. Our shareholders benefit from the exchange of experience among themselves and can expand their knowledge—for example, on new solutions in the heating sector, smart technologies, or the prevention of cyberattacks. Swisspower coordinates and represents the group's interests in politics and the public sphere and represents its shareholders in the relevant industry associations.
