PartyParty aims to become the top European source for political professionals, vital for those working in politics, parties, and election campaigns. We tell the stories from the perspective of the people inside the machine rooms of politics – non-partisan, practical, and across borders. Party Party provides the feeling of being sitting in the campaign room with expert campaigners and political professionals. Our content provides lessons to help professionals develop their political careers with a fun and personal type of reporting. Our weekly newsletter provides to-the-point articles and useful links to help political professionals and their parties improve democratic politics.

The role

For our growing team, we are looking for a talented Editor in Chief to lead the editorial team, and our expansion. Reporting to the Institute’s Partner and Chief Innovation Officer, this role will be crucial to define the editorial line to grow the engagement with our readers including high level party officials and political entrepreneurs.

The role would suit an ambitious and experienced journalist who relishes party politics, and who is keen to stand out. It requires strong editorial skills and an entrepreneurial attitude.

Core responsibilities

  • Grow the following of PartyParty with great content
  • Lead and manage PartyParty’s editorial team
  • Develop a content strategy
  • Oversee the production of content
  • Write editorial pieces
  • Review and assess articles and images
  • Develop new content formats
  • Develop style guidelines
  • Identify and tap new editorial talent
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the marketing strategy
  • Identify technology that adds value to the platform

Requirements and skills

  • Degree in journalism, communications, or similar
  • At least 3 years experience in journalism as an editor
  • Strong track record of sharp editing and excellent news judgement
  • Great people skills
  • Obsessed with politics
  • Strong attention to detail and unafraid of digging into coverage in depth
  • Fluent in English
  • Proficiency in other European languages
  • Comfortable working at speed
  • Occasional travel will be required
