Paid Internship Opportunity – Climate Reporting Conference & Workshop Program Coordinator

Location: Berlin, Germany

About the Program:

We are excited to announce a unique internship opportunity as part of our upcoming conference and workshop program focused on climate reporting in Africa. This event, scheduled for early May in Berlin, aims to bring together experts, journalists, and activists to discuss and develop strategies for effective climate reporting on the African continent.

Position Overview:

As an intern, you will play a crucial role in the planning and management of this international program. This position offers a hands-on experience in event management, networking with professionals in the field of climate reporting, and a deep dive into the challenges and opportunities in environmental journalism, especially pertaining to Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and coordination of the conference and workshop programs.
  • Support logistical arrangements including venue coordination, travel, and accommodation for speakers and participants.
  • Engage with speakers and attendees, managing communication and inquiries.
  • Contribute to promotional strategies and materials for the event.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure a smooth and successful execution of the event.
  • Participate in post-event activities, including feedback collection and report preparation.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Current student or recent graduate based in Berlin.
  • Strong interest in climate issues, journalism, and African affairs.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Fluent in English; additional language skills (particularly African languages) are a plus.
  • Prior experience in event planning or management is advantageous but not required.
