The AIT is looking for a
as part of their international and interdisciplinary Research Field Innovation Policy & Transform
You will develop and manage projects in a team in close cooperation with European and international customers and partners.
You will apply qualitative and quantitative methods of empirical social research and statistical analyses to address policy challenges.
You will work on current research topics such as the design and implementation of transformative European innovation policies, competitiveness of European regions and industries, resilience, multi-level governance and EU public administration logics, and the role of emerging technologies for Europe’s economic development.
You will evaluate the transformative impact of European innovation policies, programmes (e.g. Horizon Europe, European Innovation Council, Digital Europe) and policy instruments using both qualitative and quantitative approaches.
You will prepare research results and communicate them to decision-makers and practitioners at the EU, national and regional levels, as well as to business and scientific stakeholders.
You will co-develop new concepts and solutions in the fields of research, technology, and innovation policy.
You will contribute to the acquisition of projects and strengthen relations with our European customer and partner network.
You will publish your results in scientific, policy-oriented, and social media channels.
Master's or PhD degree in Economics, Political Science, or a related discipline (Innovation Studies, European Studies, Data Science are assets)
Several years of experience with conducting and managing projects in the fields of European innovation policy, competitiveness, emerging technologies, or regional development
Strong interest in applied research and innovation-oriented projects at the intersection of science, technology, economy, and society
Proven knowledge of European innovation policy design, competitiveness analysis, and governance of innovation systems
Demonstrated expertise in evaluation and impact assessment of policies and programmes
Strong skills in quantitative methods (e.g., econometrics, statistical modeling, surveys, impact assessments) and qualitative methods (e.g., interviews, case studies, process tracing)
Analytical ability to translate complex concepts and statistical results into actionable recommendations for policy and practice
Experience with transdisciplinary and international collaboration is a strong advantage
Responsibility, teamwork, and excellent communication skills
Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of German or another European language is an advantage
The minimum gross annual salary on a full-time basis (38,5 h / week) according to the collective agreement is EUR 59.934,--. The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience.
