Greenpeace introduces itself

Full steam ahead for the environment

Greenpeace is committed to protecting the natural foundations of life for humans and nature worldwide and to justice for all living beings.

Greenpeace was founded in 1971 and has national and regional offices in over 55 countries. More than three million people support us worldwide, including around 620,000 supporting members in Germany. We campaign worldwide with direct and non-violent actions to protect the natural foundations of life for humans and nature.

Greenpeace educates, investigates, and confronts. The international environmental organization represents the interests of nature and people. It persistently pursues problems over a long period of time. Greenpeace lives by the right to freedom of expression, including the right to freedom of demonstration. Through public debate with politicians, corporate leaders, and environmental destroyers, pressure grows in politics and business to act differently.
