The Swiss Tourism Federation (STV) is the umbrella organization for Swiss tourism. As a national network organization, it represents the interests of tourism businesses and organizations in dealings with government agencies, in the political arena, in the media, and with the general public. The STV is headquartered in Bern and consists of 13 core members—umbrella organizations representing the various tourism sectors—as well as approximately 500 additional members. The STV focuses its day-to-day work primarily on three key areas: tourism policy, sustainability (Center of Excellence for Sustainability), and various other services for its members.
Swiss tourism relies on support from policymakers and government agencies. The STV ensures that the outstanding importance of the tourism sector for the Swiss economy and Switzerland as a business location is recognized and acknowledged.
All key tourism stakeholders are united under the STV’s umbrella:
the tourism trade associations
the tourism destinations
tourism service providers
political representatives
authorities and educational institutions involved in tourism
Thanks to its broad base of support within the tourism sector, the STV represents the interests of the entire tourism value chain. The association is strategically led by the Executive Board, which consists of thirteen core members in addition to three political representatives.
