About us

Since 1954, the VdU has been representing the interests of female entrepreneurs across all sectors as a trade association. For over 70 years, the VdU has been campaigning for more female entrepreneurship, more women in leadership positions, and better conditions for women in business.

Passionate female entrepreneurs

We are committed to promoting more female entrepreneurs and founders, more women in leadership positions, and equal participation of women in the economy.

Our trade association is supported by personal contacts between female entrepreneurs. Our vibrant network and the intensive, cross-generational exchange between women facing similar entrepreneurial challenges in different industries are at the heart of the VdU.

At regional and national events, our members take the opportunity to meet in person, exchange ideas, come up with new business ideas, and expand their own business network with cross-industry contacts. In addition to local events, we also offer national and digital formats. A particular highlight is the annual VdU general meeting, which brings together more than 300 female entrepreneurs from all over Germany.

Since 2013, we have been regularly bringing together high-profile politicians and female entrepreneurs for an exchange on current political topics over a genuine English tea time in the VdU Tea Time discussion format.

Representing the entrepreneurial interests of women in politics has been a concern of the VdU since its foundation. Topics such as economic policy, equality, STEM & education, international relations, business succession, women in leadership positions in companies, female investors, and access to capital for female founders and entrepreneurs are on the VdU's agenda.
