We are pleased to announce that the CEPS Data Science unit is currently seeking an intern to join our team for a six-month period. The intern will play a vital role in developing and enhancing AI World's technical infrastructure, working on frontend or backend features and contributing to data science initiatives. This position presents an excellent opportunity to strengthen your technical development skills, deepen your AI knowledge, and gain hands-on experience building production systems within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
AI World is a comprehensive observatory mapping artificial intelligence globally with a focus on investments, patents, jobs, skills, industries, countries and regions. It is designed to bridge the gap between the impact of AI on our world and the public understanding of its dynamics. We are looking for a motivated Data Science Intern to support our technical development and platform enhancement. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of AI, data science, and web engineering, and contribute to one of the leading AI platforms.
The ideal starting date for the internship is January/February 2026 for a six-month period.
As an intern in the Data Science Unit at CEPS, you will have the opportunity to contribute to various technical tasks and projects. Your responsibilities will include:
Build data pipelines and contribute to data processing workflows;
Design and develop interactive data visualisations and dashboards;
Support the integration of AI models and machine learning components into production systems;
Collaborate on technical documentation and system architecture;
Work closely with AI researchers and data scientists to translate research insights into functional platform features.
You are a registered student for the full period of the internship, studying computer science, data science, software engineering, or equivalent.
You are familiar with:
Frontend technologies (e.g. React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Tailwind) and/or backend development (e.g. Python, APIs),
Data science tools and libraries (e.g. Pandas, TensorFlow, PyTorch),
Version control systems (e.g. Git),
Database systems (SQL and/or NoSQL).
You have a strong command of English.
You are interested in artificial intelligence, data science, web development, and research applications.
Your profile
You have a solid understanding of software development principles and can write clean, maintainable code.
You have the ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple technical tasks, ensuring timely delivery of projects.
You are enthusiastic about building practical AI applications and approach technical challenges with a solution-oriented mindset, striving to create meaningful impact.
You show genuine interest in AI technologies and willingness to engage with complex technical and research topics.
You possess strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in technical implementation.
You are comfortable working in an international research team, collaborating effectively with colleagues. Additionally, you are proactive and can work independently, taking ownership of tasks and delivering quality results.
We offer a full-time internship opportunity for a duration of six months, starting in early 2026. The selected candidate will receive expense reimbursement up to 750 EUR/month upon submission of justifying documents during the internship.
