The EU Office of the European Olympic Committees (EOC EU Office) is the representation of the EOC and other major sport organisations to the European institutions in Brussels. Its core mission is to advocate for the interests of organised sport in Europe; and accordingly, to contribute to sport-related EU policymaking and EU-funded projects, aligned with EU priorities and the objectives of the EOC and the Olympic Movement. 

The EOC EU Office is looking to fill the following position in April 2026: 

EU Project Coordinator

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

Acting as the EU funding focal point for partner organisations and European NOCs, the selected candidate will work under the supervision of the Director of the EOC EU Office and will closely cooperate with other staff members. 

The role focuses on the coordination, development and implementation of EU-funded projects, primarily under the Erasmus+ Programme, along with capacity-building and support to partner organisations. 

MAIN TASKS 

Contributing to the strategic alignment of EU-funded projects with EU policies and the objectives of the EOC and the Olympic Movement 

Coordinating the full project lifecycle of the EOC EU Office, including (non-exhaustive list): 

  • identification of relevant EU funding opportunities 

  • consolidation and effective coordination and management of project consortia 

  • writing, submission and implementation of EU-funded projects  

  • monitoring and reporting in line with contractual, administrative and financial requirements 

Supporting partner organisations and European NOCs in accessing and engaging with EU funding opportunities, including (non-exhaustive list): 

  • providing tailored guidance and consultations on EU funding and the full project lifecycle

  • designing informative and guidance materials tailored to the needs of partners and European NOCs 

  • facilitating peer-to-peer exchanges and networking opportunities among partners and European NOCs 

  • designing and implementing capacity-building and awareness-raising activities (online and in-person) aimed at informing and training partner organisations and European NOCs on EU funding 

PROFILE & REQUIREMENTS 

FORMAL EDUCATION 

  • University degree (Bachelor’s or higher) in a field relevant to the role, including Sports Management, International Relations, European studies, Business administration and management, Media and communication. 

  • Alternatively, significant relevant professional experience may be considered in place of a formal university degree or diploma. 

  • Additional desirable qualifications considered an asset include: 

  • Project Management certification 

  • Train-the-Trainer certification 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE  

  • 3–5 years of proven professional experience in similar role; accordingly,  

  • Writing successful EU project applications on sport, in particular under the Erasmus+ Programme 

  • Managing the full project lifecycle of EU-funded projects 

  • supporting partner organisations through tailored consultations 

  • developing and delivering training and capacity-building activities 

  • establishing networks, coordinate and engage multiple stakeholders within the organised (Olympic) sport sector 

COMPETENCIES 

  • Excellent knowledge of EU funding programmes, EU institutions and sport-related policy priorities to be translated into project opportunities 

  • Sound understanding of the organisational structures of European sport and the Olympic Movement 

  • Full professional working proficiency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation abilities 

  • Strong ICT skills including proficient use of Microsoft 365 tools (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)  

Additional desirable competences considered an asset include: 

  • Proficiency in additional European languages  

  • Proven experience with creative communication tools (i.e. Canva, Adobe…). 

  • Proven digital communication and social media skills (i.e. video-making, content creator, storytelling…)

OUR OFFER & APPLICATION PROCESS 

OFFER 

A full-time fixed-term contract (38 hours/week) for two years under Belgian Labour Law, with competitive remuneration commensurate with experience and the perspective of a permanent contract, in an international and supportive team, based in person at the EOC EU Office – at the heart of the EU Quarter in Brussels.
