The Gallup Engagement Index examined how strongly German employees feel connected to their employers.
The emotional attachment of German employees to their employers is at an all-time low: the last time figures were this low was in 2012, as shown by the Gallup Engagement Index 2022. This study provides a snapshot of the mood on the German labor market and helps to assess the current management culture. It shows that only 13% of working Germans feel a strong emotional attachment to their employer. According to Gallup, this low point can be attributed to the current crisis situation: since managers are primarily concerned with crisis management, they have less attention for their employees. This leads to dissatisfied employees – and a volatile labor market: 81% of employees believe that now is a good time to change jobs.
