The world of work is dynamic. Mandatory attendance and a four-day week could change the future of work.
This week, we were interested in the following topics:
Reduced working hours: The four-day week has been a regular topic of public debate for some time now. The concept of such a shortened working week is now to be tested in an experiment conducted by the University of Münster. Up to 60 companies are needed to successfully measure the impact on productivity. The experiment is being carried out by the management consultancy Intraprenör and the organization 4 Day Week Global. Workplace: It seems that the era of working from home full-time is coming to an end. A study by the University of Chicago shows that productivity at home is between 8 and 19 percent lower than at the workplace. The managing directors of many companies are now beginning to ask their employees to be more present. More details can be found at Business Insider.
Women in local politics: What obstacles do women face in local politics? A recent study by “EAF Berlin. Diversity in Leadership” for Saxony aims to answer this question. Commissioned by the Saxon state government, the study aims to help understand what prevents women from taking on local political office, what expectations they have of such a mandate, and how the framework conditions for local politics can be improved.
