Co-Founder: Business Development (m/f/x)

Open Parliament TV has ambitious goals for scaling and further development over the next four years. As part of this process, we aim to permanently divide the project leadership and management of Open Parliament TV between two co-founders, and close gaps in expertise in the areas of business and product development.

Who are we looking for?

As the Founder & Project Lead, I’m looking for an experienced co-founder who proactively contributes to the project with a great deal of initiative, ideas, and drive and plays a key role in shaping the future of Open Parliament TV. The project has been dependent on me as an individual for too long and it’s time to change that! I want to rethink roles, share responsibility and fundamentally reorganise Open Parliament TV.

Your Responsibilities

  • Business Development and Internationalisation (see Scaling Concept)
  • Developing a (non-profit) business model
  • Contributing to shaping the long-term vision
  • Product development
  • Developing a scaling and internationalisation strategy
  • Developing a communications strategy for different target groups
  • Communication with stakeholders (establishing partnerships, participation in networks)
  • Operational Management & Team Lead / Development
  • Managing finances / reporting / controlling
  • Planning budgets
  • Project management
  • International fundraising and grant applications
  • Long-term team development
  • Definition of roles and responsibilities
  • Recruitment of new team members

Your Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years of demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas
  • Business development (esp. scaling non-profit organisations )
  • Founding / company formation
  • Finance management / controlling
  • International fundraising and grant applications
  • Proactive, self-organised and well structured way of working
  • Enthusiasm for strengthening and defending parliamentary democracy
  • Identification with our Vision, Mission and Strategy and our Code of Conduct
  • Professional communication skills
  • Experience with remote work / leading remote teams
  • Willingness to travel
  • Fluency in English

Nice to have

  • Experience in working with (open source) tech projects
  • Experience in the field of open data and open government
  • Experience with (non-profit) start-ups, legal norms
  • Experience working with Notion, Google Workspace, Slack and Github
  • German and / or Dutch language skills

Compensation transparency

We have secured funding for this position for two years, with a total annual budget of ~ €68k. Depending on your country of residence and circumstances we can offer full-time employment in Berlin via the Center for the Cultivation of Technology gGmbH or a freelance contract. If we employ you, the annual salary (budget minus employer costs) will amount to ~ €54-58k (100%).
