What is Attac?

The climate crisis and environmental destruction, financial crises and austerity policies, competition between economic locations and unemployment, rising corporate profits and falling wages affect every person in very concrete ways.

Attac is part of an international movement committed to shaping the global economy in a democratic, socio-ecological, and gender-just way. Our goal is a good life for all people—both today and in the future. We advocate for:

• a financial system centered on the common good

• climate justice—because the climate crisis can only be effectively addressed if it is understood as a global problem

• a fair global trade system

• greater tax justice

• a democratic and sustainable agricultural and energy system

• social security

• comprehensive democratization

• an end to international competition between economic locations
