BUND Naturschutz in Bayern e.V. (BN) is Bavaria’s oldest and largest environmental protection organization. We are active in every district of Bavaria and work to protect animals, plants, and landscapes throughout the state. Get to know BUND Naturschutz!

Bavaria would look very different today without BUND Naturschutz (BN): The Murnauer Moos, the Weltenburg Danube Gorge, the beauty of Lake Königsee, or the Nuremberg Reichswald would no longer exist as we know them. Only the dedicated commitment of many active members of BUND Naturschutz has saved these Bavarian natural treasures.

For over 100 years, our goal has been to preserve the natural beauty and diversity of our homeland. We want to preserve the natural foundations of life for people, animals, and plants.

BUND Naturschutz helped pioneer issues that seem commonplace today, such as waste separation, the anti-nuclear movement, organic farming, and the Bavarian national parks. Rare animals like lynx and beavers live once again in their ancestral home of Bavaria today only because BUND Naturschutz keeps a protective hand over them.
