FEDARENE - European Federation of Agencies and Regions for Energy and the Environment

FEDARENE is the European network of Regional and Local Energy Agencies and Regions. Our members drive the energy and climate transition across Europe through ambitious policies, strategic facilitation, and hands-on support to citizens, businesses, and public authorities.

With 35 years of experience, the network gathers 90+ members across 24 EU countries, representing over 92 million citizens and a community of more than 1,000 energy professionals.

What we do

FEDARENE supports regions and local energy agencies in implementing and replicating sustainable energy and climate solutions. Our activities are organised around three main pillars:

Inform

We act as a hub for sharing information and best practices. This includes peer exchange, knowledge transfer, and communication to help our members, European institutions, and other stakeholders stay informed about the latest developments in the energy and climate fields.

Influence

We ensure that the regional dimension is represented in European policies. Through advocacy, policy engagement, and strategic partnerships, we influence energy and climate legislation and programmes to reflect local and regional realities.

Interact

We facilitate collaboration and capacity-building through EU projects, events, and networks. By connecting regions, energy agencies, and other stakeholders, we support the replication of successful initiatives and foster cooperation across EU territories and levels of governance.
