International Centre for New Media

The ICNM aims to empower citizens and individuals across Europe and to create an inclusive, values-driven platform that promotes democratic participation and civic engagement. Through the power of collaboration and the promotion of digital impact solutions, the ICNM fosters social improvements based on active citizen participation and community building. The ICNM operates within a network of stakeholders from over 182 countries and encompasses all EU Member States, including activists and experts, academics and social entrepreneurs, government representatives, social impact investors and private sector actors.

With a strong focus on democratic values, the ICNM identifies, evaluates and showcases best practices in the form of high-quality, purpose-driven digital solutions that advance society through multilateral cooperation and diverse, interactive formats. These initiatives actively promote the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and uphold the fundamental values of the European Union – human dignity, freedom and solidarity.

The ICNM works to build diverse, equitable and inclusive ecosystems for civil society and young people. The focus is on collaboration as a higher value than competition, on social and environmental impacts that matter more than rapid growth and huge profits, and on authenticity and transparency. The ICNM’s vision is to support, in particular, young entrepreneurs from all EU Member States who are not content with the status quo and who use their creativity and skills to develop solutions that serve society in line with the Union’s values.
