NEOS Wien Rathausklub

Über NEOS

NEOS entered the Vienna City Council and the 23 district councils for the first time in 2015. From day one, the five representatives established themselves as THE constructive opposition force.

This commitment was rewarded in the municipal council elections on October 11, 2020: 7.5% represented an increase of 1.35 percentage points – an excellent result given the difficult starting position in the year of the coronavirus crisis.

This voter confidence was ultimately converted into action: NEOS succeeded in negotiating a bold, progressive program with the SPÖ – on November 24, the progressive coalition was sworn in and immediately began its work.

NEOS regional spokesperson Christoph Wiederkehr now serves as deputy mayor and city councilor for education, integration, youth, and transparency.

Supported by a strong city hall club with now eight representatives and nearly 80 district councilors in all 23 districts of Vienna, NEOS will do everything in its power to make Vienna even better in the coming years.

We are placing a special focus on good schools and kindergartens, on rebuilding Vienna's businesses after the pandemic and thus reducing unemployment, on a clean, transparent Vienna, and on a Vienna that takes ambitious steps in the fight against climate change and implements sustainable improvements in this area.

Values

NEOS Vienna stands for freedom, progress, and justice. As part of the first “Vienna Progress Coalition,” we are shaping Vienna, taking action where others look away, and have a clear goal in mind—to make Vienna even more livable. Whether in schools and kindergartens, climate protection, the economy, or transparency, there is much to be done. We offer a job with meaning, visible results, and a clear “reason why.”
