Future Center for German Unity and European Transformation

The Future Center for German Unity and European Transformation is an open, participatory space dedicated to exploring experiences from the period of reunification and the subsequent upheaval and transformation in Germany and Europe. We are creating a vibrant platform for critical dialogue about our future.

We aim to combine academic excellence with social reflection and cultural outreach to make transformations—both historical and contemporary—accessible and to generate new momentum. In doing so, we strengthen democracy and social cohesion, particularly between East and West.

This open space for co-creation will be established in the heart of Halle (Saale) on Riebeckplatz in a new building. Exhibitions, dialogues, conferences, cultural events, and other formats will find their home here.

The Future Center is currently under construction and is expected to have a team of around 200 employees by the time it opens. Do you want to grow with us?
